FAQ

Faq: Designer Watches

A consumer asks…

Are designer watches main purpose is to accessorize to match your outfit?

im talking about watches from Diesel, Guess, Gucci..etc.

and how about like Cartier, Omega, Tag Heuer? are they also considered designer or just expensive material watches?

WristWatchDesigns.com Answers:

Yes they are to accessorise and display with pride, You wouldn't spend hundreds or thousands on a watch just to tell time, that's why men such as myself have various designer watches for corresponding outfits.

If you're not dressing to impress, then get a $15 watch from walmart.....

A consumer asks…

I am asking again. "Dan Klein Time" with a serial number listed alongside is on the back on designer watches?

Does anyone know why this name is listed on the back of these designer watches or know of a designer named Dan Klein?

WristWatchDesigns.com Answers:

I don't know about a designer, but there is certainly a publisher of that name from Atlantic City. Www.acinside.com should be the site of his magazine. It may have been a promotional item.

A consumer asks…

What are some of the best designer watches?

my twin is turning 17 soon and i know she wants a Tiffany's watch, but i cant seem to get there site up so i would like to know what company makes the best "blinginest" watches?

WristWatchDesigns.com Answers:

There are many good designer watch companies. For the most "Bling" i would recommend going with a Freeze Diamond Watch, Aqua Master , or Geneve Diamond Watches

Faq: Fashion Wrist Watches

A consumer asks…

Women, do you wear your wristwatch with the face on the inside of the wrist? For fashion or other reason?

I am curious as I have always thought it looked hot, especially a sporty one like a baby-g. Few women I see wear it this way and I wonder why. If you do, is it for fashion or convienience or something else? Has anyone told you they like the way you wear it or even noticed? What if your boyfriend asked you to wear it inside or got a you a watch to wear this way? I am very curious.

WristWatchDesigns.com Answers:

It is strange how often this question has come up in the last two weeks! Wearing your watch on the inside of the wrist was originally a military thing. When you don't want to give off your location, especially people like snipers, the glare off the face of your watch can be like a beacon. The other thing is that if you're holding a gun, ready to shoot, you don't have to release the trigger to look at the time, but just slightly move your wrist up.

Now, it is just for fashion. I've heard that some people just don't want to draw attention to their watch (ie. Like a mugger) and others just don't want people bothering them for the time.

A consumer asks…

Looking for a wrist watch recommendation?

I know nothing about wrist watches, and I don't want to pick something tacky. I have a habit of having bad fashion sense. Looking to spend around $1,000 on a wrist watch, I like simple designs. Want something classy, hoping someone here who knows a lot about this can make a good suggestion. Men's watch, btw.

WristWatchDesigns.com Answers:

I would try http://www.goldwatches.com/ They always seem to have the most popular watches and if you can't decide just call them and they will help you!

A consumer asks…

Creationists: Doesn't the “Blind Watchmaker” theory prove evolution?

You say that if you find a wrist watch lying on the ground, you know that it was designed; therefore it must have a designer. So the same works with humans, who are more complex than wrist watches.

But the wrist watch wasn’t just created the way it is. It was formed by combining smaller parts that was created individually, and then put together. If we lived on another planet, the watches we have would have been different, because the day might not have 24 hours, or the planet might not revolve around the sun at the same rate as Earth.

So the “Blind Watchmaker” proves evolution, since humans like watches were created from smaller, simpler parts, which combined to form the body parts, and if we lived on another planet, we might not have the same characteristics as we do now.

And just like the making of the wrist watch was guided by humans to make sure it is functional, the creation of humans was guided by natural selection to make sure we evolve in a way to be able to live in this planet. Doesn't it make sense?

WristWatchDesigns.com Answers:

It is my understanding that the theory behind the "Blind Watchmaker," is that there are many errors, and a huge amount of time is necessary in the process of evolution. It is for that reason (they say) it is unlikely that any gods or God created living things by intelligent design.

As a liberal Christian I disagree. I think God created the mechanism of evolution. The fact that there are many errors along the way in the process of evolution is simply the way it works. Mutations are errors, whether good or bad. Sometimes a "good," mutation occurs. But again, a mutation is still an error. The fact that evolution takes a lot of time means nothing in my opinion. For to God the Bible says, "...A day is as a thousand years and a thousand years is as a day."

A consumer asks…

Can you argue with the fact that the evidence of creation and design is seen throughout nature?

Logically, there can be no creation without a creator, no design without a designer, and no laws without a law maker.

All space exploration relies on the application of accepted laws of mathematics and physics.

Christians say that any honest enquirer can readily see that God existed and designed the Universe, and made the laws that apply in it.

Did your computor, wrist-watch or car engine just "happen"? Of course not" Who would deny the existence of manufacturers like Dell, Seiko, or Ford? Similarly, God's creating and designing work cannot be denied.

The Bible says the Heavens declare both God's glory and righteousness.

Or, to be down to earth, what happens if you drop a glass? Who framed that law of gravity?

WristWatchDesigns.com Answers:

I believe in God because of the hard evidence he exists: in the order of nature and the universe, man's superior intelligence and moral conscience. But the most incontrovertible proof of his existence is no other than Jesus Christ, the Image and Word of God and the Revealer of God our Father. He was sent by his Father not only to save and reconcile mankind. He was also sent so that men may come to know God. What human can:

Silence a typhoon?
Walk on water?
Multiply a few loaves of bread and fish in order to feed a multitude of 5,000?
Bring back dead people to life?
Give sight to people born blind?
Change water into wine?
Rise from the dead?

These miracles prove beyond any reasonable doubt that Jesus is what he claimed to be - God. They demonstrate Christ's power over life and death and the forces of nature. Only a God can have such powers.

And if these miracles were just made up, Christianity would not have grown by leaps and bounds in the first century. Many people witnessed these miracles. The resurrection of Jesus cannot be silenced because more than 500 people saw his resurrected body.

Peace and every blessing!

I need a nice watch?! help mee plz!:D?

Im looking for a watch, preferably a designer one. However, I dont want it to be very expensive. I dont want a Dior or Chanel one, I just want something like DKNY or Marc Jacobs etcc.. something casual that I can wear everyday. I love swatch watches, but all the ones I like are huge, and I have a small wrist. I would like a "girly watch" , if that would help. I also dont have alot of time to go and look in little shops, so I would appreciate it if you would give me some suggestions that are in department stores. I hope im not asking for too much, but a link to the actual watch and price would be much appreciated... Thankyou!

WristWatchDesigns.com Answers:

I don't have an actual style or price to show you. But, if you're looking for something to last a long, long time, go with Timex or Fossil. I've had my Fossil watch for 12 years and it's still fabulous. It's durable, the battery lasts a long time in it, it still shines like the day I bought it. My mom has had the same results with Timex and has had her watch for 20 years. Timex and Fossil both offer classic feminine styles that are timeless.

I'm not a guy. Sorry.

To tell you the truth, I don't really like watches. Especially if you're going to pay that much for one. They're basically useless these days, since most people have cell phones. So it seems like the only real reason people wear them is to show off, or look important.
Does he like watches? Has he mentioned this brand to you? If not, you may want to reconsider what to get him. I won't make any suggestions, but if you just google "gift ideas", there are a ton of sites that offer creative gifts.

Hope this helped, and that regardless of what you pick, you're both happy.

A consumer asks…

what are some nice decent good price watches for men ?

like nixon, g-shock those kind of styles

WristWatchDesigns.com Answers:

My best recommendation would be to a watch that has SAPPHIRE crystal and NOT mineral crystal. Less expensive watches generally have mineral crystal which scratches very easily. Sapphire crystal will not scratch unless it has a vicker similar to that of a diamond. Sapphire crystal cost more than mineral which is why you generally have to spend a little more to get it. But you will not be buying a new watch every year because of scratches either.

Why wear a wrist watch when you can see time in cell phone ?

Is it because wrist watch is a fashion accessory ? But so you can also use cell phone as a fashion accessory!

WristWatchDesigns.com Answers:

I am a watch collector, and I often carry no cell phone, anyhow. My cell phone does not keep time very well, so my watches are much more reliable. Today, I wear a 1953 LeCoultre "Futurematic" gold watch that is quite elegant, and I left my cell phone at home, since I need make no calls today. I cannot see how a cell phone could ever be a fashion accessory, and I can imagine how one would look if was as old as some of my watches, e.g. 1893, 1902, 1915, etc. Models. I think my 1953 LeCoultre watch is much more beautiful than any cell phone could ever be. It is much more convenient too. I just rotate my wrist to see the time with my watch, but with my cell phone, I must remove it from its holster and turn it on ... If I even have it with me. I only carry it when I need to make a call, but I wear a watch every day..

Do you feel that people still wear watches now that most people carry some type of cell phone with the time?

Share! Do you still wear a wear a watch, now that you have a cell phone, ipod, iphone, or other wireless device that shows the time? I noticed so many watches still advertised in magazines. My friend recently commented that he always hated watches, and, since he has a cell phone, he definitely has no reason to encumber his arms with useless paraphernalia. I then noticed that I, too, no longer wear, or even look at watches when I go to the store. My mother and father no longer wear watches either. My father's watch was a part of his body until the mid 90s. My sister never left the house without her practical calculator watch and, after high school, never without a pricey designer watch. Yet, now, everyone I know has freed their wrists. Have you witnessed this phenomenon, or do you still look at your wrist or just ask a pretty girl or handsome fellow for the time?

WristWatchDesigns.com Answers:

Oh definately! It's not because we have all these electronic gadgets, we will stop wearing watches. I personaly love looking at different styles & brnds of watches. The brand I mostly use because it's good quality, reliable and I don't have to spend a bunch on it is "GUESS". Watches will always be around I think. Watches nowadays are accessories people will never get tired of.

Do artists/graphic designers/ anybody in the drawing field use wrist braces?

I have recently found that I have a form of drawing skill and my hand/wrist hurts when I draw for a little while. I am considering going into the art field, so I was wondering if professionals use a wrist brace when they have to draw for several hours at a time. And if so, is it supposed to feel very stiff?

A consumer asks…

Is this how a normal "good dad" behaves or should I be a little annoyed at my husband?

My husband and I have 2 kids. The older is a 5 yr old girl who is biologically my step daughter. Her bio mom is cruel, though, so I am (for all intents and purposes) her "real" mom. We also have a daughter who is almost 2.

I LOVE spending time with my kids. I like to take them out or if we're tight on money for the month I get small crafts for us to do from the dollar store. We are working on painting a border around our dining nook using just cheap little paints from the dollar store (it's not designer, but it's fun and will make a sweet memory) we make friendship bracelets, we take a LOT of trips to the library and go home to read books and watch movies, we take walks to the BEST local ice cream shop. The 5 yr old likes to cook with me so we go to the grocery store together and she helps me pick out the BEST ingredients and then prepare our meal. At the moment I can't think of more, but I spend a lot of time doing fun things with my kids. Last night I picked my step daughter up from her bio mom after their visitation because my husband needed a nap. He'd been at work since 5:30am so I figured he needed it. I called him after I picked up my step daughter, though, and asked if he could be ready in a half hour or so (after napping for almost an hour) to go to the movies with us to see a kid movie my step daughter had wanted to see. He didn't want to go and phrased it as "You guys have a nice girls night" It wasn't like it was a girly movie! It was cute albeit a PG cartoon :)

I love my husband. He is a kind and very sweet man, but he can be SO dense. I say that he's a good father and it's true that he's certainly not a bad one. He never yells at or hurts the kids. They love him and snuggle with him while he's watching sports or whatever. Sometimes he'll go in the back yard and play ball with them. Frequently, though, he's not really involved in the activities we do. I ask him to be or I plead with him to at least feign interest, but he frequently says "Oh I'm too tired" or something like that. The thing is, we only work part time schedules. He gets plenty of sleep. He's only TWENTY for crying out loud. I'm also twenty and I KNOW I'm not old. I have plenty of energy for my kids. Why doesn't he? I know he loves them, but it seems like he doesn't really put a lot of invested interest in them. I should be thankful that he's at least a very decent man, but I want my little girls to grow up with a strong dad in their lives. My mom cut my dad out of the picture when I was young and I never really got to know him until I was 16. My step daughter's mom did her best to cut her dad out of the picture, but we've fought tooth and nail for full custody. I want my kids to have good self esteem and have a positive male role model to base their future boyfriends on. Do you think it's ok to settle for "good enough" or should we have another talk about my desire that he take more proactive interest in our kids? I feel like I shouldn't have to ASK him to be interested in our kids.....
La Vie Boheme: Well yeah I don't either, but you know what? He should have thought about that before he had two kids. It doesn't matter to me that he's 20. He wanted his kids. He wanted to be married. He got his kids. I married him. Now he needs to step up and take responsibility for his kids. It's not like he doesn't support us, but I think we all know that financial support is less "valuable" than really being there for your family.

WristWatchDesigns.com Answers:

My husband told me a couple of years ago that he doesn't enjoy time with his kids unless it's something that entertains him. He has planned for me to do things with his kids more than once so he can park his @ss in front of the computer. When they come to visit, it's hard for him to tear himself away from his video games, etc. To be with them. Some people are just selfish, and it seems that more men are than women. The older girl needs way more of her dad than she's getting. Her mom already rejected her. If she doesn't get the attentions she needs she'll be 13 and seeking it from boys. Just like my poor step-daughters will be doing. You are right, and you should keep trying to get through to him. Would he read parenting books if you got them? I don't know if there are DVD's on the topic, but I'd keep trying. You're a great mom!

HELP!!! Advice needed..... using my sister's account?

I just started dating a Macedonian girl. She is the same age as me 32. She is pretty. However, she is very bossy and always wants her own way. She is very materialistic. She buys Gucci and Armani clothes but gives me the cheapest presents, like a 20 dollar watch. She says she comes from a poor family in ex-Yugoslavia and material things mean a lot to her now. When she first met me she asked which area I lived in, what car I drove and what I did for a living. I live in a good area and have a professional job at Reuters. She has no education and works as a receptionist. She is not ambitious but expects to earn a lot of money for doing nothing. I have to pay for everything all the time. She told me that she likes me because I am "generous".

When she finds coins or any money on the ground she always picks it up. She uses her gay hairdresser for free haircuts and flirts with another guy to get to use his gym for free.

Recently her friend got expensive tickets to a concert and gave her one but she never even bought the friend a drink to thank her for it. She let someone else buy the drinks.

She has an agressive character and is very pushy. She is very demanding.

Previously I found out she dated older, divorced men with money who bought her expensive watches and designer clothes.

Her sister married an ugly, old, oddball for money and papers to stay in the USA.

My girlfriend paid her gay hairdresser to get married so that she could get the Visa to stay.

Should I continue to date her or not?

She doesn't seem like too solid of a person... I mean, why would you date someone you already are having trouble tolerating?
Get a girl that really treats you right, not one that just walks all over everyone. Your generosity should be more appreciated.
She wants too much and doesn't give enough back. How long do you really want to deal with that?
Find someone you can stand for the rest of your life.

Chicago Bulls making moves to land LeBron?

As of today the Bulls have traded (G) Hinrich and the 17th Pick to the Washington DC Wizards to clear their proverbial wallets!

This move obviously is comfortable to both clubs, namely that the Wiz get a solid veteran to pair with Kentucky rookie/#1 pick John Wall.

• This move now makes Chicago competitive with NYC Knicks who prior to the draft had the most space ($34,147,478) to sign two high-powered contracts.

• Now BOTH Chicago and NYC can sign two big contracts.

• Prior to the trade, Chicago was ranking 5th in the fat-wallets category, able to bankroll $20,509,84 to free agents/salaries. POST TRADE, da Bulls cleared up room, thereby making their bankroll approximately $30 million.

Anyone think LeBron, Bosh, and Wade end up together in Chicago?

ESPN radio and Yahoo Sports have continually discussed how these three guys have had meetings in an effort to team up! Interesting indeed!

Sources: ESPN radio, Yahoo Sports, and 'Slam' magazine, Aug. 2010 issue, page 52 for financial stats.

WristWatchDesigns.com Answers:

I'll be honest, I don't see any way that Bosh, Wade and Lebron all wind up in the same place. I think it would actually be a bad thing to have all three guys, who all command the ball in the place.

But I could actually see Chris Bosh and Lebron James both going to Chicago. The Bulls can afford to pay both maximum contracts. Plus when you think about this; Lebron wants to go to a team where he has a legit second star to pair with, and Chris Bosh is waiting specifically to see what Lebron does. So if this happens it jolts Chicago immediately into one of the top teams, if not THE top team in the EAST.

Yeah Baby! Yeah! Yeah Baby!

Okay but seriously, I just youtube'd a buzzer beater by Kemba Walker and it was reminiscent of Jordan back in the day when he wore red! Then, I start to listen to Sports Spewsticators on the radio and the like, chirping longlingly about this Kemba Walker!

Understandably!

March Madness Qs:

® 1. Did Kemba Walker and his UConn Huskies meet the former 1st Round, 1st Draft Pick John Wall and his Kentucky Wildcats last season when Wall was still balling collegiate?

® 2. Mano-A-Mano / 1 ON 1 ... : Who'd win in a pick-up, half-court game between Walker and Wall?

Tale of the Tape:

~ Wall, John: 6' 4'' 195 pounds; 1st Round / 1st Pick by the Washington Wizards

~ Walker, Kemba: 6' 1'' 172 pounds; ? Round / ? Pick by the ???? ??? ???

® 3. Will Kemba enter the draft next season? Will he be a 1st Rounder?

HAVE FUN With this Question!

WristWatchDesigns.com Answers:

At one im not so sure but i don't think so

At two i would say Wall his game is really polished now

At three kemba is expected to enter the draft and he is projected to be in the first round and be picked between 10-15

I'm a skinny but pretty ripped guy in terms of upper body, chest, and triceps. However, I do have a small wrist. What do you ladies think?

If your wrist is really skinny that it cant fit the watch then yes that will look weird, BUT if your wrist fits fine then it should look really good at least that's what i think besides be unique, but wait make sure the watch is nice looking!!!! =]
